Dean Kannemeyer trained the winner of Africa's greatest horserace at Greyville on Saturday 4 July.
Khaya Stables' Maine Chance bred son of Silvano, Power King stormed home to beat Punta Arenas and Tellina – in a glorious Trifecta for Maine Chance and champion sire, Silvano.
Stuart Randolph rode the winner, who had to survive an objection by the jockey on the runner-up.
Dean thanked Lady Christine Laidlaw and congratulated Maine Chance – as well as thanking his top-class team and Bloodstock consultant Jehan Malherbe.
"A great team effort – thank-you to all. I am pleased as punch. Can we talk further on Sunday?" asked an exhausted Dean after the event.
